South Intermediate League- Bruree 1-20 Knockainey 0-23

The penultimate round of the south intermediate league would see Bruree face knockainey in what can only be described as the Bruree’s toughest test to date. Knockainey fresh from relegation from the Premier Intermediate championship brought everything they had to Bruree on the evening.

The game began with a point from Kieran O’Dea which was quickly answered by Knockainey’s  Mikey O’Grady. This would set the tone for the somewhat back and forth game.

A goal from Kieran O’Dea followed by points from Kevin Hayden and Ronan O’Halloran and Sam Cronolly would see us pull away in the first half. Knockainey, however would not prove to be halted by this and would come back into the game.

The backs remained strong in defence and were able to keep Knockainey away from goal line. Particular player of note in the backs were William Sexton and Jimmy O’Dea who defended and broke ball well.

Halftime Score Bruree 1-10  Knockainey 0-11

Following halftime Knockainey would score two points unanswered. These were two by Ronan O’Halloran.

The game would remain close after this with both Bruree and Knockainey both working some brilliant scores.

Great ball delivery from Sam Williams would help the likes of Paddy Lynch and Conor Frawley score some vital points.

A late free converted by Sam Cronolly would see us in the lead, however this was matched by a point from Knockainey and would see the match finish Bruree 1-20 to Knockainey 0-23.

U17 Hurling – 3rd May Killacolla Gaels 1-20 Patrickswell 2-04

U13 Football – 4th May Cappamore 0-5 Killacolla Gaels 0-4

Our u13 football team travelled to Cappamore on Thursday. In very wet conditions this was a great contest from start to finish. A physically stronger Cappamore team settled well and led early but points from Daithí Curley and Gary murphy left the half time score Cappamore 0-3 Killacolla Gaels 0-2. Led by our outstanding half back line of Conor Ryan, Dylan Sheehy and Michael McCarthy the boys as always worked so hard but couldn’t bridge the one-point gap despite scores again from Cody Harding and Gary murphy. Special mention to Junior O’Donnell and Adam Dooley who also put in a great shift. The final score was Cappamore 0-5 Killacolla Gaels 0-4 team Sam O’Donnell, Junior O’Donnell, Tom Frawley, Noah Culhane, Conor Ryan, Dylan Sheehy, Michael McCarthy, Daithi Curley, Gary Murphy, Shane Lynch, Cody Harding, Evan O’Shea, James Cussen, Kellen O’Connor, Adam Dooley, Darragh O’Sullivan, Donnacha O’Dwyer and Aidan Kelly

U9 Hurling - Well done to our U9s who had a great evening of hurling in Milford last week. Huge thanks to Milford GAA for their hospitality.

Intercounty

Niall Tobin and Owen Barrington played the quarter final of the Corn John Scott against East Cork last Saturday. Unfortunately, it was not their day as they lost 1-16 to 2-18. That is the end of their Celtic Challenge experience unfortunately but a great learning curve for the lads.
