South Intermediate League: Bruree 3-28 Hospital 0-19
Our away outing in the league marked the beginning of the summer season with a win. Ronan O’Halloran opened the scoring with a point. This was followed by a goal by Michael Lane. Two Hospital attacks were beaten back by goalkeeper Dan Lane making two heroic saves, by stopping two goals go over the bar. This managed to keep the Hospital scorecard.
Hospital scored two points which would level the game, this was however soon responded to by Ronan and Sam. Hospital would come back into the game with a few points goal chance which was well defended by Kieran O’Rourke and Pa Carey. The half was ended with Michael Lane’s second goal which let the half end at 2-12 to Hospital’s 0-10
The second half would begin with a lull for Bruree and see Hospital led by Conor O’Grady at centre forward. This would not last forever however, and the introduction of Kieran O’Dea would see us excel to a lead of double figures.
Sam Cronolly, Ronan and Paddy Lynch would also all contribute to the Bruree scoresheet. Great communication and between our back’s and goalkeeper would also see us keep a clean sheet on the goal front. Ronan’s goal late in the half would seal the win for us, with the final score being `3-28 to 0-19
