Knockaderry would begin strong scoring the opening two points. Bruree, however would take the lead matching and surpassing Knockderry’s score by going 4-2 up in the first ten minutes. Bruree’s backs would show their strength by applying the necessary pressure to Knockaderry’s forwards meaning that their they would only score once from play in the last fifteen minutes of the first half. Bruree’s forwards unloaded un these fifteen minutes scoring eight from play with, Sam Cronolly, Tommy Cronolly, Jimmy O’Dea, Brian Sexton, Frankie Barrington and Paddy Lynch all scoring. This would leave Bruree leading the game by 0-15 to 0-08.

Knockaderry’s second half would prove better than their first with a long range shot finding the back of the net catapulting them back into the game. Bruree would remain calm following the goal and would continue to score at the pace at which they had in the first half and managed to nullify the goal quickly.
