Hi all,
Would you like to know what to be able to do if you were at home and something happened a family member like choking , stroke or heart attack ? It is defibrillator training time again. There are over 70 responders trained up in the Rockhill/Bruree area and it is very important to keep the training up to date. Also as important is to try and increase the number of responders so asking anyone that is interested to contact John Daly 087 2388924- THE MORE THE BETTER !!
There are 9 new people already signed up. Training takes place on different nights so touch base with John and he will add you to the list so that you can go on a night that suits you.Training lasts about 3 hours and takes place in the community hall, starting at 730PM.
Remember
- Emergency Number is 087-2757278- SAVE TO PHONE! And please pass on to family members, friends and others in the community.
- On call is not rotated across all responders like it used to be. In the Rockhill/Bruree area there is a small group of people who rota the phone and in the event of a call they will contact responders.
- Locations of AEDs are on the wall of the complex in the sports field, wall on entrance to Rockhill Church and wall on Central Bar across from the church in Bruree.
The AED course is a comprehensive course for the lay responder and is particularly useful for those expected to respond to emergencies in the workplace, or in sporting environments, especially CPR using an AED (defibrillator) which is so important in the first minutes after a cardiac arrest.
It is designed to teach you:
– CPR
– Choking (foreign-body airway obstruction)
– Use of an AED (Defibrillator)
You will receive a course completion card upon successfully completing the course(not on the night, John will have at a later date) Certification: Irish Heart Foundation certificate. Valid for 2 years
Thanks all.
Bruree GAA.
