Kildimo Pallaskenry 1-15

This evening we played Kildimo Pallaskenry in the 1st Round Of the Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship At Mick Neville Park Rathkeale. Conditions were dry but very windy and cold. Kildimo Pallaskenry Had the wind for the 1st half but it was Bruree that started the quickest with a pointed free from Kieran O’Dea after he was fouled. Bruree Had More possession but cud’nt add to the scoreline. Kildimo Pallaskenry Replied With four unanswered points three from Frees and one from play. Twelve Minutes in Jimmy O’Dea took advantage of a bad pass from there Goalkeeper to score our second point. Again Kildimo Pallaskenry Hit four more points in a row to leave the score 0-08 To 0-02 after twenty five minutes. Kieran O’Dea Replied With another point from a free but it was Kildimo Pallaskenry Who scored the last point of the half from a free to leave the scoreline Bruree 0-03 Kildimo Pallaskenry 0-09.

A big second half was needed and Bruree came out flying with two points from Kieran O’Dea one from a free after James O’Brien was fouled and an excellent point from play. Kildimo Pallaskenry went back up the other end to score from play. Kieran O’Dea Replied straight from the puckout. Kildimo Pallaskenry Hit three point in a row to stretch there lead to seven points. On 39 minutes the referee made a huge call when James Vincent O’Brien broke through the Kildimo Pallaskenry Defence And as he was going to strike on goal he was cot and pulled but no penalty was given. Instead a Free was awarded to Kildimo Pallaskenry. It was a huge call but the wrong call. Bruree kept going and James Vincent O’Brien Pointed For Bruree. This left six points between the teams. Bruree created two brilliant goal chances through James Vincent O’Brien And Kieran O’Dea But Both were brilliantly saved by the Kildimo Pallaskenry Goalkeeper. Kieran O’Dea added another point. Again Kildimo Pallaskenry scored two more points one from play and one from a free. On 53 Minutes Kieran O’Dea scored from a free after Jimmy O’Dea was Fouled. Three minutes later Kildimo Pallaskenry finished the match as a contest when they broke clear and riffled the ball into the top corner of the net. James Vincent O’Brien had a brilliant effort saved by there back man on the goal line. Bruree tried hard but it was Kildimo Pallaskenry that prevailed and won on a final scoreline of Bruree 0-09 Kildimo Pallaskenry 1-15. It was a disappointing start to the championship For Bruree but the final score was harsh on the lads. On another day those goals would of gone in. Well Done To Kildimo Pallaskenry. No time to dwell on this as next week Bruree play Bruff in Kilmallock. A win can change things all around for Bruree. Heads up. Work hard And keep positive.
