Limerick GAA Coaching & Games facilitated a Foundation Award course  (Hurling & Football) for Bruree GAA  on Tuesday Feb 5th & last night the 12th

We had brilliant attendance with 21 coaches taking part in the course, 18 from Bruree and 3 of our friends from Castletown/Ballyagran. The course involved two 3 three hour practical sessions and there is also a couple of hours of online elements . Well done to Owen Tobin, Sean Quirke, David Deady, Seamus Sheehan, Frankie Barrington, Shane O’Dwyer, Kevin Delee, Michael Murphy, Joachim O’Kelly, Eamon Hayden, Gerard Sexton, John O’Brien (Garrouse), Paul Crotty, Declan Sexton, Frank Barrington, Andrew Cussen, Brendan Hogan, Ciaran Sexton, John O’Brien (Ballytigue) Mike McCarthy & David Sexton. It was brilliant to see such a large number of existing and new coaches give their time to complete this course. It was a refresher for some who had completed this some years back but everyone commented how beneficial it was to get the updated course & to see the online resources available to coaches from the GAA. These are worth reviewing for any coach.  This is the first of many steps been taken by our Juvenile club & Coaching officer David O’Dea in providing the best possible structures and coaches for our players to develop their skills to the highest levels.

A huge thanks to course tutor Ollie Coffey who, as he always does on his numerous visits to the club, provided invaluable insights into the various skills, movements and coaching for our younger players.

The club would also like to thank Noel Hartigan (Limerick GAA County Coaching Officer) for co-ordinating the course.

Thanks to Owen Tobin for coordinating from the Juvenile club and to David O’Dea, the clubs coaching officer. If anyone in the club in looking for guidance or support with coaching then please reach out to David who will be more than willing to help.

Thanks to Rockhill Bruree Community Hall Committee for use of the hall.
