What a day for Limerick and what a day for the O’Brien family!

From everyone in Bruree GAA, heartfelt congratulations to the Limerick senior hurlers on an incredible All-Ireland triumph. The pride, passion and commitment shown by this team have once again inspired a county.

There was an extra layer of pride for all of us in Bruree as our own Fionn O’Brien was part of this All-Ireland-winning panel. While we all look forward to the day we see Fionn charging onto the field in Croke Park, being part of this journey is a huge achievement in itself, and we have no doubt there are many great days ahead for him in the green jersey.

What made yesterday even more special was seeing a Bruree man lift the Liam McCarthy Cup for the first time since Fionn’s grandfather, Jim O’Brien, was part of Limerick’s All-Ireland-winning team in 1973 as the county’s corner back. Fifty-three years later, the O’Brien name is once again etched into a special chapter of Limerick hurling history.

It was a day of immense pride for the O’Brien family, for Bruree GAA, and for our entire parish. Moments like these remind every young hurler in our club that dreams really can become reality.

Congratulations to Fionn, his parents Johno and Rosette, his family, and every player and member of the Limerick panel and management. Enjoy every second of this wonderful achievement.

Fionn, you’re our man.
