The rain falling from the skies in Kilmallock on Sunday did not deter Bruree from overcoming Pallasgreen in their final group game in the county intermediate championship.
The first five minutes would see Bruree go five points clear of Pallasgreen with Frankie Barrington, Sam Cronolly, Matthew Howard and Kieran O’Dea all contributing to the score. Bruree would continue to mark their scorecard with a goal from Jimmy O’Dea and more points Sam Cronolly further on into the first half.
Bruree’s forward’s prolific scoring was matched only by the work of the backs and midfield who managed to keep Pallasgreen scoreless in the first half by turning over possession and pressuring the Pallasgreen forwards to shoot from the back foot.

As the skies cleared for the second half, one might have thought Pallasgreen would mount a comeback. This however, would not come to pass as they were unable to get up to Bruree’s scoring pace. Frankie, Sam and the O’Dea brothers continued to score with Kieran scoring a goal to put the final nail in the Pallasgreen coffin. The Bruree backs held Pallasgreen to a mere four points which is a testament to Bruree’s work rate throughout the game.
Bruree’s current run of form has seen them win all but one of their group games this year, in these games they have only conceded one goal. The team’s next game is a county quarter final and is expected to be fixed for the weekend after next, with opponent to be confirmed.
